Magellan Cyclo GPS Cycling Computers Launched In The U.S.

Magellan launched its Cyclo GPS series of cycling computers in Australia and Europe last year and now the lightweight, easy to use devices are making their way to North America. The devices are packed with features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Smart 4.0, Unit-to-Unit sharing, pre-loaded maps, ANT+ and more.

The company is launching two models in the U.S., the Cyclo 315 and Cyclo 505. It says that both are designed to provide the most routing options, sensor support and connectivity for “the serious cyclist.” Cyclo 505 is actually the first device of its kind to include SHimano Di2 gear data display and recording apart from Bluetooth Smart HRM/SAC sensor support. It also features support for call and SMS notifications when paired to an iOS or Android smartphone.

Both Cyclo models come with pre-loaded highly detailed road network maps with cycling POI’s and are also capable of turn by turn navigation. They also include Open Street Map bike network for both U.S. and Canada. Both models have 4GB internal memory for recording time, speed, distance, altitude and calories.

The Cyclo 315 and Cyclo 515 GPS cycling computers will be available in May 2014 from sporting goods retailers and leading independent bike shops. Cyclo 315 will retail for $349.99 whereas the Cyclo 505 will cost $429.99. The devices will also be offered in bundles which will include heart rate monitor, speed and cadence sensors for $429.99 and $499.99 respectively.
