I read a wonderful article today by Agence French Presse that is totally deserving of being shared.

In more restrictive countries like Iran, religious and governmental authorities and mandates might make it difficult to break out of gender-decreed norms. Very often, those of us who live in more open societies take the pursuit of freedom and personal expression for granted, and it’s easy to forget that there are some people who still struggle in their fight for these liberties every single day.

I find it inspiring that these young Iranian women are challenging old tenets of what a woman should or should not be doing, and not giving up on what gives them freedom and confidence. A woman should be able to run, jump or execute somersaults in public parks if she so chooses. These brave females are so inspiring, and I hope they won’t stop holding on tight to…
